How's That New Year's Resolution Going?

GIVE YOUR GOALS DIRECTION AND POWER BY ASKING YOURSELF SOME SERIOUS QUESTIONS THAT WILL AID YOU IN DISCOVERING YOUR WHY.



Two weeks ago you vowed this would be the year you'd get in shape, fit into those skinny jeans tucked away in your closet, or finally get off high blood pressure meds.


You might think with just a little more motivation, a stronger will power, or the perfect meal planner you can finally take control and crush your goals this year. Most resolutions, however, will fail. A study by researchers at Scranton University found that only 19 percent of individuals keep their resolutions. Most are abandoned by mid-January (today).


The allure of losing weight and looking good begins to fizzle out over time. But why?? Why does sticking to a weight loss and fitness plan undoubtedly fail?


Frankly, we don't have a motivator stronger than our temptations and excuses. So let’s sit down and discover a WHY strong enough to crush your goals and your goal's goals!


Most of us can begrudgingly admit our motivation is a number on the scale or a certain size we wish to be. That type of motivation might be what made you contemplate making a change but it doesn't pack a punch strong enough to carry you through to the finish line.


To stay motivated we need to dig deeper and reflect more on what a healthier lifestyle will really provide for us in the long run. It will keep you going long past your initial goal and hopefully the rest of your life!

This week we're going to discover your WHY. We're going to dig deep into those feelers and dig up some really motivating reasons to guide you along your journey to a healthier lifestyle. And then, next week we're going to revisit and reevaluate your resolutions... Ready?


Before you set out on this discovery, make sure you're prepared. Carve out some time in your schedule specifically for this task. Make sure you won't be distracted and spend a few minutes clearing your mind or meditating before you begin. It may seem a little silly or childish but this is THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!
